What is a Spotify QR code?
A Spotify QR code points at any Spotify link: a track, album, artist profile, or playlist. Someone scans it with their phone camera and it opens in Spotify, ready to play. It is the fastest way to get a song off a poster and into someone’s ears.
It is a link QR, so it works with any phone camera, not just inside an app. The code is static and never expires, which matters when it is printed on a run of posters or merch that lives for months.
How it works
Copy your Spotify link
In Spotify, tap the three dots on a track, album, artist, or playlist, choose Share, then Copy link. You get an open.spotify.com URL.
Paste it in and style
Drop the link into the field above and pick a palette and module style to match your cover art or poster. The preview updates as you go.
Download and print
Save the PNG and add it to a poster, flyer, merch tag, or release announcement. One scan opens the music in Spotify.
Where a Spotify QR code helps
Release promo
Put your new single’s code on a poster or story. Fans scan and land on the track, no searching your artist name.
Merch and stickers
Print your artist-profile code on a shirt tag or sticker so a fan can follow you straight from the merch table.
Gig flyers and posters
Link a playlist of the night’s set so people can preview the vibe before they decide to come.
Cafes and shops
Share the playlist that is playing in-store so customers can take the soundtrack home.
Questions
How do I get a Spotify link to use?
Open Spotify, find the track, album, artist, or playlist, tap the three-dot menu, choose Share, then Copy link. That copies an open.spotify.com address you paste into the field above.
How is this different from a Spotify Code?
Spotify Codes are the scannable bars inside the Spotify app, and they only work when scanned from within Spotify. This makes a normal QR code that any phone camera reads, then opens the link in Spotify, so far more people can scan it.
Does it open the Spotify app or the web player?
If the Spotify app is installed, most phones open the link directly in the app. If not, it opens in the Spotify web player in the browser, where the track or playlist still plays.
Can I make a code for an artist profile or playlist?
Yes. Any Spotify link works: a track, album, single, artist profile, or playlist. Copy the link for whatever you want people to land on and paste it in.
Does the Spotify QR code expire?
The code itself never expires. It is static, with the link baked in, so a poster or sticker keeps scanning for years. Nothing on our servers can switch it off. The only thing that would is Spotify itself taking the track or playlist down.
Is it free for commercial and release use?
Yes. Artists put these on merch, vinyl sleeves, and gig posters at no cost. It is a plain QR pointing at a public Spotify link, so there is nothing to license or clear.
